Dr. Sarah Davis, assistant professor at the Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs, has been published in the October 2015 issue of the New Phytologist.  The journal publishes timely research on the broad principles of plant science, and Davis’s article addresses large-scale analyses of the environmental impacts of agriculture.

Large-scale analyses of agriculture break down the yield, effectiveness, and economic and environmental impacts of agricultural production.  That sort of large-scale analysis hasn’t been widely applied to studying drought-tolerant plants that use crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM).  Davis, along with other researchers, study the benefits of CAM evaluations in this article.

Davis is an ecosystem ecologist with expertise in energy bioscience, biogeochemistry and eco-physiology. She contributes to energy bioscience by exploring opportunities for bioenergy development that will also enhance ecosystem services.

The New Phytologist is published by the New Phytologist Trust and Blackwell Publishing, and Davis’ article is part of Volume 208, Issue 1, pages 66-72.
