Athena Yearbook, Design Layout Editor

Advancement Services

The Athena Design Layout Editor will provide oversight and detailed specifications of page layout for the annual Ohio University yearbook the Athena. Pages will be developed from initial conceptualization through final review. Artwork will be produced for publications including brochures, newsletters and e-newsletters, Web pages, flyers, invitations, direct mail, ads and HTML or rich media e-mail graphics. The student Design Layout Editor will earn significant benefits from the opportunities available for external and organizational networking, building portfolio samples, and gaining an understanding of a career in graphic design or visual communication. This position is an integral member of a creative team responsible for maintaining the Association's visual image with its extensive public. The position reports directly to the Art Director, Advancement Communications and Marketing.

Student Graduate Assistant for Campus Relations: Student Alumni Board and BobcaThon

Alumni Relations

The office is looking for a Graduate Assistant to join the campus relations team and help to engage students with OHIO alumni. The OHIO Alumni Association (OAA) is committed to helping connect students with OHIO alumni, and create a dynamic experience for current students to encourage a life-long relationship with the university, and help them understand the purpose of philanthropy. This position would focus on student programming and alumni programming. ¬ Assist in advising the Student Alumni Board, a 70-person student board, in programming, fundraising, and professional development opportunities throughout the year. ¬ Assist in advising BobcaThon, Ohio University’s Dance Marathon benefiting the Ronald McDonald House of Central Ohio. Advise the students in recruiting, planning, and connecting students with philanthropy. Serve as a resource for an executive board member help them lead a team, plan and execute their goals throughout the year. ¬ Help the Campus Relations team in the OHIO alumni association plan programming to engage students, faculty, staff, and alumni with the association. ¬ We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds ¬ Assist in student programming efforts including: homecoming, networking weeks, send offs, dinner with 12 strangers, and more. ¬ Hold weekly office hours. ¬ Requires 20 hours per week while school is in session; other hours by mutual agreement. ¬ Attend weekly meetings with staff, supervisor, and advised organization(s). ¬ Other duties as assigned.

Director of Development, Planned Giving

Development

The Director of Development for Planned Giving is responsible for utilizing best practices for cultivation and solicitation strategies of planned giving donors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction to the other programs in order to achieve fundraising objectives and goals as defined by University Advancement and the colleges/units supported by University Advancement. Essential Functions: 1. Maintain the work load of planned giving based on priorities and goals that coincide with strategic plans. Retain updated information on multiple gift vehicles available. 40% 2. Serve as a subject matter expert and liaison to the major giving program in regards to strategizing and executing planned gifts. Work collaboratively with the organizational giving, major giving, annual giving and special initiative staff as needed to verify, cultivate and solicit constituents for planned gifts for the university and work with appropriate campus offices to plan implement and oversee stewardship programs. 30% 3. Coordinate and implement ongoing planned gift activities on behalf of the University in order to increase the number and size of gifts. 25% 4. Identify, engage, and solicit donors for the purpose of securing gifts for Ohio University and The Ohio University Foundation. Raise roughly $1,000,000 and conduct 50 visits annually. 15% Successful candidate must be self-motivated with a willingness and ability to travel.

Athena Yearbook, Photo Editor

University Advancement

The Athena Photo Editor will work closely with the yearbook staff to photograph, gather, and prepare print ready photography for the 2017 edition of the publication. The Photo Editor will earn significant benefits from the opportunities available for external and organizational networking, building portfolio samples, and gaining an understanding of a career in photography. This position is an integral member of a creative team responsible for maintaining the Association's visual image with its extensive public. The position reports directly to the Art Director, Advancement Communications and Marketing.
